Error when trying to login in to Microsoft Teams

I have been having issues logging into Microsoft teams and I seem to be the only account in the organization unable to login. The administrator confirmed that it was activated however, I still receive the error message about missing out and to contact the administrator. The account administrator removed the license and re-added it for my account. I also received an email from Microsoft about having conferencing for Microsoft Teams or Skype for business online once the license was added back on. (I received this email before as well when Microsoft teams was activated). I am not sure what is going on and the administrator has tried everything as well. I'm having issues on all platforms using the desktop client, the app on my computer, and my iPhone app. I am able to login with my other companies information without any issues so I know it isn't my computer or phone. Any other options for us to try before we give up?

Hi Issueshelp,

From your description, I'd like to conclude your situation as following points, please feel free to correct me if there is any misunderstanding:

  1. You cannot sign into your account in the Teams desktop client, Teams web APP as well as the Teams APP of your iPhone.
  2. Your colleague's account can successfully log in to Teams on your computer and mobile phone.

In this situation, please kindly try to removing stored user credentials in the Credential Manager via using Control Panel to check this issue.

If the issue persists, try to clear the Teams caches: exit Teams completely, go to***%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache*** and delete all the files. Then go to %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Application Cache\Cache, delete all the files. Re-open Teams to see if you can sign in successfully.

Similarly, if you still cannot sign into your account in the Teams web app after clear the Windows credentials, it is recommended to clear the browser's caches and cookies and try again.

Moreover, to narrow down this issue and help you more efficiently, we need to collect following information for analysis:

  1. Did you receive the same error message in the Teams desktop client, Teams web APP and the Teams APP on your iPhone? Please provide us screenshoots of the error messages for analysis.
  2. Please check if you can sign into your account in your colleague‘s computer.
  3. If convenience, please change to a different network environment and check the result.
  4. Can you sign in to Teams before? Please send us a screenshoot of your account licenses for analysis, thanks for your understanding.

Best regards,

Jennifer

I have tried the steps recommended and unfortunately it doesn’t solve my problem. I am receiving as message telling my institution to activate it on the MacOS application and on the iphone I am just getting an error. I was unable to login at any point but I received multiple emails in regards to the activation of the service on my account. My account manager deactivated and then about 1 day later reactivated and that still didn’t solve the issue. How would you like me to send the screenshots? Thank you

    Hi Issueshelp,

Thank you for getting back to us, I'm sorry for providing suggestions regarding Teams for Windows since you didn't mentioned you are using Teams on your Mac.

Please kindly try following steps to see if it helps:

    1. Click Go > Go To Folder > Type in: ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft, then delete the Teams folder there.
    2. Navigate to the following folder in your Mac and then delete them and try to again to see if it helps.

    ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.teams

    ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.teams.shipit

    ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams

    Regards,

    Jennifer
