Error when trying to login in to Microsoft Teams

I have been having issues logging into Microsoft teams and I seem to be the only account in the organization unable to login. The administrator confirmed that it was activated however, I still receive the error message about missing out and to contact the administrator. The account administrator removed the license and re-added it for my account. I also received an email from Microsoft about having conferencing for Microsoft Teams or Skype for business online once the license was added back on. (I received this email before as well when Microsoft teams was activated). I am not sure what is going on and the administrator has tried everything as well. I'm having issues on all platforms using the desktop client, the app on my computer, and my iPhone app. I am able to login with my other companies information without any issues so I know it isn't my computer or phone. Any other options for us to try before we give up?

Hi Issueshelp,

From your description, I'd like to conclude your situation as following points, please feel free to correct me if there is any misunderstanding:

  1. You cannot sign into your account in the Teams desktop client, Teams web APP as well as the Teams APP of your iPhone.
  2. Your colleague's account can successfully log in to Teams on your computer and mobile phone.

In this situation, please kindly try to removing stored user credentials in the Credential Manager via using Control Panel to check this issue.

If the issue persists, try to clear the Teams caches: exit Teams completely, go to***%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache*** and delete all the files. Then go to %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Application Cache\Cache, delete all the files. Re-open Teams to see if you can sign in successfully.

Similarly, if you still cannot sign into your account in the Teams web app after clear the Windows credentials, it is recommended to clear the browser's caches and cookies and try again.

Moreover, to narrow down this issue and help you more efficiently, we need to collect following information for analysis:

  1. Did you receive the same error message in the Teams desktop client, Teams web APP and the Teams APP on your iPhone? Please provide us screenshoots of the error messages for analysis.
  2. Please check if you can sign into your account in your colleague‘s computer.
  3. If convenience, please change to a different network environment and check the result.
  4. Can you sign in to Teams before? Please send us a screenshoot of your account licenses for analysis, thanks for your understanding.

Best regards,

Jennifer

Going on two years and Microsoft still can't figure it out? When will this be resolved, am getting really tired of having to purge %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache and all the stuff and reinstall every week just to get logged in! Amazing this is the best supposedly one of the most cherished names in information technology industry can do huh? Sorry to be so brazen, but what does it take to get Microsoft to acknowledge, must less listen, understand, and actually fix it?

I recently had this issue. This is a firewall issue.

Add the following domains in your firewall allow list and you won't have the sign in issue

    devspaces.skype.com

    local.teams.office.com

    gov.teams.microsoft.us

    dod.teams.microsoft.us

Also you need to add the suggested IP ranges from here

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise/urls-and-ip-address-ranges?view=o365-worldwide

I too am having similar issue but with web 365.

I can log into my work account get access to all apps i.e. outlook, sharepoint but when click on teams it prompts log in , verification and then says cannot log in.

Teams works on the desktop app but really (for convenience ) i need it to work through 365 web. So i can access all apps i need for work on the one platform. Surely supposed to be one of the benefits of this programme. This also happened with my presonal 365 account and Microsoft itself could not resolve. That was about a year ago. Surely Microsft should have been looking into this and trying to resolve, given the amount of money it makes!

I have checked with the companies IT he has tried various things to try and get it to work to no avail.
