SharePoint Republish Button Disappearing

Recently, when I click the Edit button to go into Editing mode in SharePoint Online, the Republish button doesn't display where it used to. In order to get it to show back up I have to refresh the page.

  1. Click Edit button.

  1. Republish button missing.

  1. Refresh the page. This popup keeps reappearing no matter how many times I close it out.

  1. After closing the pop-up, the Republish button has returned.

  1. Clicking the Republish button puts me back at Step 1. I have to go through this process every time I want to Republish any page.

As you can see, this quickly becomes annoying. Please help!

    I am having the same issue as of 2/11/2020. I am using Chrome. The following is the process I take to be able to "Republish" a page and keep the changes that I have made.

    • Click on "Edit" button. "Republish" button is not there.
    • After making my edits, I click on "Save As Draft".
    • I click "Edit" again. "Republish" button missing again.
    • I refresh the browser, "Share Your Ideas" pop up message appears. I close the message box.
    • "Republish" button appears
    • Click on "Republish"

    We are having the same problem, and it just recently started. We are using Chrome, this is a Communications site, and we are a government agency.

    Can confirm that this is happening to us as well. Almost all reported this issue and other that Chrome, this is happening in Edge and Edge DEV.

    Confirming that as of 2/8/2020, this is still an issue.  I've seen it on most pages I edit using Chrome/Edge Cromium/Firefox/Internet Explorer.  Seems to NOT occur on the first edit, but if you perform a subsequent edit without reloading the page or navigating to another page first, then the problem reproduces.   Not sure how I stumbled into the "refresh as workaround" solution, but I'll confirm that it seems to be the only way to get past this.

    Have the exact same issue as Adam.  Noticed it beginning 3 to 4 weeks ago.  Today we had a case where when an author hit refresh because the republish button was missing, sp deleted the content from most of the text web parts on the page and saved a version.  Had to go and restore a previous version and lost quite a bit of progress. 

    I would think fixing this issue would be high priority if you want people to continue to use SPO modern pages.
