Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Thanks for the note. I wonder exactly how that was done but might experiment.

I keep getting the following in my office products:
RESTART REQUIRED Restart office to apply changes to your privacy settings
I have not made any changes to my privacy setting recently yet keep getting these prompts. Anyone else running into and discovered what the cause of it is?

Hi
I had this problem. "RESTART REQUIRED Restart office to apply changes to your privacy settings" in Office products, not going away no matter how many times I restarted Office or Windows.
Inspired by some posts about credentials, I managed to solved my issue. I believe that various situations may cause the same symptoms, but perhaps a few of you can use the following:
I have at corporate PC linked to a corporate Microsoft account. But I had also set up OneDrive to access my personal Microsoft account. I did, however, grow tired of seeing my personal files end up on Excel's and Word's lists of recently used files after accessing them on my private PC at home. So I unlinked OneDrive from my personal Microsoft account.
Retrospectively, I am quite sure this is what started the problem. But I did not make the connection before reading this thread. In Word >> File >> Account there is a section called Connected Services. And my personal Microsoft account was listed there. I removed it, and that solved the problem :-).
Cheers,
Morten
It doesn't work for me. I'm using a private desktop PC, no mobile devices, don't use OneCloud, and have not enabled 'Connected Experiences'. (On the rare occasions that I need it, I turn it on and turn it off when I'm finished.)
I have been getting this error for weeks. Any updates as to how to fix?
thanks
It is completely beyond fathomable that Microsoft, the biggest player in this business, gets away with **** like that. In my family, everyone gets this message on both corporate and home PCs (corporate and university licenses that allow installation at home)
I have the strictest privacy settings on all the machines I control, and I won't move away from that. It is the same as with Android, which will perma-complain that "basic functions are unavailable" once you restrict Google Play's access to everything it craves. But the system will run fine. So for all that matters, Office seems to work just fine, too. Having a few crashes on one of my machines with huge Excel files and only 8 GB RAM, but that is the exception.
