MAU still didn't work

Well it's now October, and 16.30 just arrived. The MAU still didn't work. I noticed that it's now combined with the update so didn't try to download the updated first this time. But symptoms are all the same - the updater recognized that I needed all applications and told me to install 16.30 and when I saw the progress bar, each package showed download progress but the overall download progress kept resetting each time to zero and the package didn't finish saving on my Mac. At the end I got the telltale message "One or more packages..." 

This is the problem that Microsoft doesn't want to fix because they don't have enough people reporting it or saying they have the problem. 

So I'm a 365 subscriber who pays money to have what Microsoft described as the package I was purchasing and they're not going to provide it.

I guess this is what happens when integrity is an option left up to the workers and not the leaders.

    Hi

    I split your reply off because that thread has gone stale. It's from months ago and so many people jumped in with different stuff I can't figure out who did what where and when.

    First, please do a Safe Boot. Hold the SHIFT key down as your Mac restarts. Once your Mac boots up,

    download, install and then run the latest version of AutoUpdate to update Office. Hopefully, the download will complete normally.

    After install, do a regular restart.

    Jim,

    I assure you, this has not gone stale.  This is still very much an issue that all of us out here are waiting for Microsoft to fix.  Personally, I've been dealing with it for at least 2-3 years, manually downloading all updates.  It's quite frustrating, especially since it does not appear as though it's either being taken seriously, or addressed by Microsoft.

    Thank you for your interest. I can appreciate how the old stale post on this matter that began i April 2019 is hard to decipher.

    So to bring you up to date, I have done a safe boot, reinstalled OSX, completed deleted Office and reinstalled it. I have worked with MS Support live and completed everything they asked. I have gone down a list of suggestions from all over the internet and faithfully implemented each one.

    My last communication from MS Support was that they decline to pursue it because it's not affecting enough people.

    I have just confirmed that the problem is still present with the latest version of Mojave 10.14.6 and the newest version of Office 16.30. I installed the latest version manually after confirming that the same problem is occurring with the latest updater 4.16.

    I believe if there were a way to poll users we would find that a lot more are just manually updating because they gave up with no solution in sight earlier this year. Many have been suffering with this for 2-3 years.

    This is a subscription service for me - MS 365 - with a commitment to provide the product as described.

    Jim,

    Michael2050 is correct. This MAU didn't work either. I believe Microsoft doesn't want to fix it as well but for a more nefarious reason, for example, frustrating Apple users to switch to Microsoft computers. Seriously, there is an integrity issue here. I am throwing good money toward bad results.

    I can try to help, but if no one tries my suggestions and reports on the results, then there's not much I can do.

    The same symptoms can have many causes.
