MAU still didn't work

Well it's now October, and 16.30 just arrived. The MAU still didn't work. I noticed that it's now combined with the update so didn't try to download the updated first this time. But symptoms are all the same - the updater recognized that I needed all applications and told me to install 16.30 and when I saw the progress bar, each package showed download progress but the overall download progress kept resetting each time to zero and the package didn't finish saving on my Mac. At the end I got the telltale message "One or more packages..." 

This is the problem that Microsoft doesn't want to fix because they don't have enough people reporting it or saying they have the problem. 

So I'm a 365 subscriber who pays money to have what Microsoft described as the package I was purchasing and they're not going to provide it.

I guess this is what happens when integrity is an option left up to the workers and not the leaders.

    Hi Alex and everyone else.

    I downloaded MAU 4.16 and ran via MS Word and got the same error albeit in a new looking MAU interface.

    I have attached screenshots showing the running processes after starting MAU and then after trying to update (the date timestamps are out of sequence as I re-did update to get the before image)

    I had checked the Apple Root CA certificate setting long ago and found this was not my solution/issue. It certainly appears to be one cause. I hope that Steve can update his MAU to 4.16 and check the StandAloneUpdaterDaemon to see if it's running. As I'm already updated on 4.16 and 16.30 I'm no help.

    PS - I'm still running Mojave 10.14.6 - Steve is on Catalina so we're looking at potentially two different setups.

    You realize that we have seen this article before, and in my case, it doesn't work.

    I appreciate the help and support but relying on the same response isn't a solution.

    Hi Michael2050,

    The process name of itself haven't been changed during the macOS upgrade.

    That issue was reported as there are 2 active process running at the background while updating the Office for Mac, one is the MAU, another is the StandAloneUpdaterDaemon which jeopardize the whole updating procedure.

    If you didn't see that process in the Activity Monitor, then I believe the root cause of the MAU issue should be different.

    @Steve, as you were using the MAU 4.15, please first update the MAU to the current latest version 4.16 and check the outcome.

    Since this issue has impact on multiple users, I will keep communicating with our internal resources on this issue. Meanwhile, as the issue reported in the following Github thread has been resolved by the Product team:

    Error : One or more Update Packages Could not Not Be Downloaded

    Thus, I think it's also a good idea to raise an issue thread in the OfficeDocs-OfficeUpdates  Github, hope this will raise the Product Team's attention on the issue.
