MAU still didn't work

Well it's now October, and 16.30 just arrived. The MAU still didn't work. I noticed that it's now combined with the update so didn't try to download the updated first this time. But symptoms are all the same - the updater recognized that I needed all applications and told me to install 16.30 and when I saw the progress bar, each package showed download progress but the overall download progress kept resetting each time to zero and the package didn't finish saving on my Mac. At the end I got the telltale message "One or more packages..." 

This is the problem that Microsoft doesn't want to fix because they don't have enough people reporting it or saying they have the problem. 

So I'm a 365 subscriber who pays money to have what Microsoft described as the package I was purchasing and they're not going to provide it.

I guess this is what happens when integrity is an option left up to the workers and not the leaders.

    Microsoft,

    Frankly, I really don't understand why this issue is so difficult to solve.  Several people have provided logs that seem to indicate a key value of the download does not match some mysterious value on the machine.  Why is this not a simple code review to determine how the match is done?  If the logs produced by the Microsoft application aren't sufficient to root cause, ADD MORE LOGGING!  It's Microsoft's app!  I agree, all this troubleshooting should not be on the user base and I shouldn't have to manually update every time.

    This is getting very frustrating....

    I had previously setup a new user account (profile?) and tried that without no help.

    I suspect we may have a multi-cause symptom as different people are reporting this same symptom and different fixes.

    Alex has been very helpful.

    I'm going to have to wait for next update to duplicate this again.

    I just checked and under my wife's admin profile I can install updates, just not under my main profile. grrrr!

    it seems from reports of many users that it's a mixed bag. I have several Macbookpros running Mojave and only one doesn't work with MAU - the others do. Nothing remarkable is different.

    Other user reports mixed results as well.

    After looking at this for a year, it appears it is MAC OS independent and hardware independent.

    Some people have cured it by doing the Key Chain Certificate fix and apparently some have fixed it by stopping the StandAloneUpdaterDaemon process.

    So it appears this shows up as a symptoms from various causes.

    I worked with MS Support for an afternoon where they took control of my Mac and tried a bunch of stuff and nothing worked. I complete re-installed MACOS Mojave and that was no help. I also completely scrubbed every MS file and re-installed from scratch and no help.
