Onenote for Kindle: Error 80004005

If you read through the previous postings, you will see that your in good company. 

As for my original posting, assuming that you have a OneNote account already,  you may be able to directly access OneNote on the OneDrive site https://onedrive.live.com via Fire's Silk browser.  It's slower and not as "seamless" as it should be but it does work. 

The other way that I mentioned (sharing) is only because some users can't seem to get to the onedrive.live.com site directly as was previously mentioned. 

This method is not for everyone and not a "happy" solution but it is what it is: the ability to link the Fire to OneNote and back for the really important stuff in our lives.

I'm looking at EverNote as a replacement app.

I've got a Fire 7 (with 4 other Win10 PCs) & I always meant install One Note. tried this install four times with this error code. I'd say it's the application that needs fixing 'ello Redmond. BC

I could log in through silk, but it's more of a hassle that way. Plus, I have two accounts and don't want to keep signing in and out of them. One was from when I setup Xbox, the other my windows phone. One has nothing but music, the other all my photos and documents. I want to be able to log in through the app so that i can simply click and have access. Plus, it's easier to share to other cloud drives, Facebook, etc through the app... Some others might be pacified by your suggestion though, so it was still a good idea...

Hi Tim.  Thanks for the reply -- I really appreciate it.

I actually haven't had any trouble accessing OneNote on the Kindle through Silk, so your suggestion is a good one.  My problem is that it just doesn't fit my use case.  My Kindle gets the most use at night when I'm reading.  OneNote was useful because if a thought pops into my head -- something I wanted to remember, or something I needed to do the next day -- I could switch over to OneNote, create a quick note, and return to my reading, knowing that I'd see the note in OneNote on my PC the next day.  When the Kindle OneNote app stopped working, I tried using the web version in Silk, and it worked OK, but the problem was that by the time I got Silk running, got logged into OneNote, and got to the right notebook, there was a chance I'd forgotten why I was there in the first place.

So yeah, like you said, "not great."  The thing that bugs me so much is that for years and years Microsoft has been nagging us:  "Put your data here!  It will always be safe and available!  Trust us!  Trust us!  You'll always have access!" ... and that worked right up until it didn't.  You would think a large group of people on a particular platform who suddenly don't have access to their data would be a big deal to Microsoft, as it undermines their basic narrative, but I'm not seeing much of a sense of urgency from them.

I bought 7 kindle fires, specifically to use Microsoft One Note. Every time I try to log in I get the same message....

"There's a problem

We can't complete this task. Try again.

Error code: 80004005"

Nothing I try works....I am very disappointed...
