Mail Flow - External Message Warning HELP

Hello!

I'm trying to setup a mail flow rule for external email messages from non-organization addresses. I have it setup great, however I have it coded so that it displays the yellow background, red boarder etc and it displays perfect in a sample code viewer. However, when I add it to my rule and then send a test message to my email from outside the org, it doesn't display any of these colors. HELP?? I have included my code below. I'm using 0365

Thanks for provide the details in your post. About your question, please kindly check following steps to see if it can help you fix this issue:

  1. In Exchange Admin Center, go to mail flow > rules and then click "+" to create a new rule.
  2. Then set the new rule like below picture:

Note: in step 4, please enter following code:

I have tested above rule on my side and I can successfully show the warning message(see below picture), if you have any problems when doing so, please feel free to post back and provide us a screenshoot of the detailed information about the rule you created for analysis.

    I don’t know that you can, with this particular method at least. They will always be “external” therefore the rule will continue to behave as it should— marking external emails as external.

    I don’t know if I ever reported back, but this still only works for me on the web version and iOS app version. Other clients, including Outlook Desktop on Windows (Office365/2019 nor 2016) do not display that special external tag.

    I like this idea, but it doesn't seem to display the disclaimer anywhere in Outlook on desktop or mobile. Where does it show up?

    This seems similar to the way that the Set-ExternalInOutlook is implemented (i.e. using labels). Which didn't work for me either! I've enabled targeted release for our users so I'll let you know if they start getting the update necessary for the "category" to display.

    Edit:

    The method I linked above works for me. So far only in Outlook iOS app. I haven’t been able to get it to work with Outlook for Windows v2105, and haven’t nor will I test android app. Image

    You can add a category to the message instead of changing its subject line or prepending the body text.
