OneDrive search not working

The search function in the top left doesn't return any results. It used to return results if the given search term appeared in either a file name or the body of a file.

    I follow in the footsteps of a genius who discovered the workaround. You create a new high level folder (i.e. under OneDrive), name it whatever, then drag all other folders into it. This is easy via ‘select all’. I waited an bit, then dragged them back into their original location - low and behold problem solved. I don’t know how often this process needs to be repeated but so far it’s worked for several weeks. Good luck!

    Thankyou. And does the search then work on Android and IOS. My search seems to work OK on my Windows laptop but not on my Android phone or iPad. Hopefully will work on all three platforms one I try the workaround. Thanks for your help.

    Hi Greg, Agree regarding the search engine, thier major competitor has a much better search capability that has multiple search criteria capabilities. However, the pricing for 365, ability to share the licence with family and One Drive storage size is the reason l went for it. In a similar vein has anybody had any luck bringing back results where the search word is contained in tje PDF files, l haven't...

    To resolve this I have

    a) synced all OneDrive files locally on windows 19

    b) used UltraSearch (free) which is a fast search tool (can also search contents - slower of course)
