The search function in the top left doesn't return any results. It used to return results if the given search term appeared in either a file name or the body of a file.

If you are using PDFs and the invoice is only 1 page try loading a test file as a photograph file, I.e. jpeg etc and see it it reads the invoice amount. Else think about putting the amount in the file name itself. That might be tricky but experiment with various formats that only has this amount as the numeric value.

    Hi,
Everything is the best tool to search anything but only on PC(s) where you synchronize ALL your stuff from t cloud to your local hard drive.

But, when you try to access your One drive through the web (on your mobile , or from another PC) you are forced to use the awful Microsoft search ..

    hello

I have been having trouble with my one drive I share with my accountant. I put the amount of an invoice in the name line but have been having trouble for them to be found in a search. when I look they are there but the search is not finding them in the name line. What can I do. it is causing issues for me and the accountant to find a file when we need to verify it.

    can you help?

I've finally accepted that MS are incompetent and simply can't fix their own software. Try to get them to do something about it was doing my head in.

So I decided to give up on MS and find an acceptable solution myself. This is what I've come up with and it works a treat. It finds every file I search for.

On windows, I downloaded a free app called 'Everything'. Direct the search to the OneDrive directory and it does what it's name suggests and finds everything

On my Android phone I use 'Samsung My Files'. The search function also finds everything after directing it to the OneDrive directory.

I now have confidence I can search Onedrive and find what I'm looking for. No thanks to MS.
