OneDrive search not working

The search function in the top left doesn't return any results. It used to return results if the given search term appeared in either a file name or the body of a file.

    Same error. I not only can't search the contents of files, search files names in the web-version of OneDrive.com doesn't work. 

    The message I got from MS was "According to our dev team, they are working on the problem, but you can still search your OneDrive files using your computer with File Explorer or Finder"

    However, that doesn't work either. My Win10 PC is fully indexing my OneDrive folder. I have the normal mix of PDFs, DOCs, TXT files. I've rebuilt the index and even turned on "Enhanced Searching" in the Windows Search setting. I still cannot find content within a PDF using Win10 search.

    I found out that I can go to the sharepoint site to search. OneDrive is just sharepoint in disguise.

    From https://abcdefgcomau-my.sharepoint.com/personal/abc\_xyz\_com\_au/\_layouts/15/onedrive.aspx

    I can search in the top bar. You'll need to figure out your URL.

    This is the sort of poppycock you get from Microsoft when you raise the issue formally. This is a reply from Microsoft on 5 September 2020.

    "I would like to inform you that our engineering team is integrating Bing search into OneDrive to make the user's experience better. This is the reason why Search Everything option is currently being turned off but I can assure you that it is a temporary pause of the service and will be resumed as soon as the Bing search is integrated. 

    I do not have an estimated time of arrival for the service to be resumed but it will be very soon as it is a very important service and cannot be brought down for long. "

    I mean, what does it take to get someone in Microsoft to take this seriously?

    more than 18 months since original post and just a week since the last one and this is still an issue?!

    Same, Same Same times 9 pages of posts and 322 comments and no useful answer?

    How lame that in 2020 a file sharing and access features lacks basic reliable search functionality.  

    Unbelievable.

    Wow.

    Please tell me I missed something.

    I was never a fan of 365 but I am at a new company any everything I need is on a shared  one drive but I am relegated to alphabetically scrolling through file name hunting for information.  

    I can not even wrap my head around this.

    Photos search is not working for me either, whatever I type in the search filed, there are no results

    Is there an option to enable ?
