The search function in the top left doesn't return any results. It used to return results if the given search term appeared in either a file name or the body of a file.

Is there anyone out there thats found a suitable alternative? By suitable I mean one where the search function works as it should. If there is, I'll gladly ditch Onedrive.
This is UNBELIEVABLE!! This thread started in 2019 - and they haven't fixed it yet??!!! I just started using OneDrive because it was free with the Office license. But I can't believe they don't reliably provide the most basic of all storage services, which is Search.
Or are they also unreliable on persistence and integrity of the files..........??
Just terrible.
I will just add: Me too. I have stored tons of ISO images on OneDrive and when I search for *.iso, .iso, iso nothing gets returned, except of one picture?
This problem has been happening for years and years...Microsoft will not do anything and are not doing anything to fix it, as long as you pay them as that is all they are interested in..... Like most other large companies they are in it for your money.
Anyone affected by the search problem in the iOS app and online, namely in files that others have shared with you: Try it again now. I have been discussing with MS for weeks now. And lo and behold, the search in the iOS app and online works again. Suddenly I can find everything. Finally.
