OneDrive search not working

The search function in the top left doesn't return any results. It used to return results if the given search term appeared in either a file name or the body of a file.

    Microsft now does the same as google with all your documents.

    I sent a support ticket in. The ticket was closed without a reply.

    Then they sent me a survey to rate my support experience.

    I cancelled my subscription and moved to the big G.

    I am considering to do the same. The problem for me is however, that the never ending pressure of Google to get your data and fence you in with 'personalised experience' give me the creeps. It was the most important reason for me to make the switch.

    With amazement I have been reading this thread about the Onedrive search not working after more than a year of people complaining. I just switched from Google Drive to Office 365 and I am beginning to dearly regret it. It cost me a lot of time to migrate my files, and now the results the search on Android is returning are very unreliable or non-existing at all. Unbelievable one has to pay for this desaster.

    The conclusion is that I will have to return to Google Drive at least for a part of my files. Thanks MS!

    OneDrive search is working in Windows 10 (version 1909) and also in Windows 10 (version 20H2)

    How to check your Windows version …

    Step 1: 

    Press the⊞Win+R keys together.

    Step 2:

    Type winver (and hit Enter  … or …  press OK) 

    If you're using an earlier Windows version, update it.
