A family of Microsoft relational database management systems designed for ease of use.
We have an application which was working okay till last month. But after the last windows update our clients are getting issues with access database. access database got corrupted. We ran compact and repair. But it still getting corrupted again and again. This issue started right after the window update. clients are on different OS. Like server 2018, server 2012 and windows 10.
Is there anything i have check in new windows update or any other step to prevent database corruption?
08/09/2020 - So, in discussions here and on other sites, and with others who have this problem, there does not seem to be a one size fits all solution. However, everyone, is in agreement this problem is fairly clear - data corruptions in the back end of MS Access applications are very frequent.
But for the sake of clarity, was it Win 10 1803 or 1809 when it broke?
And it does not seem to be different in 32 bit or 64 bit.
The versions of Access effected are:
All?
1997?
2003?
2007?
2010?
2016?
365?
Also, 32 and/or 64 bit?
I know this is repetition for some of you, but I'd like to get this as clear as possible for this reason:
I WOULD LIKE THE CONTRACT PROGRAMMER WORLD TO REALIZE THERE IS A LARGE OPPORTUNITY FOR A SOLUTION TO A HUGE PROBLEM. BY POSTING THIS HERE AND ON SEVERAL OTHER BLOGS THAT CONCERN THIS ISSUE, I HOPE TO INSPIRE EXPERT CONTRACTORS TO BRING AN EXPERT SOLUTION TO THIS MARKET. PERHAPS, IF IT IS GOOD ENOUGH, MAYBE MICROSOFT WILL PURCHASE IT AND INCLUDE IT IN THEIR EVENTUAL SOLUTION.
Millions of MS Access databases have been effected by this and so have the programmers, contract or in-house, who have developed these time & labor saving applications.
