AUTOCORRECT-ONENOTE: FOR GODS SAKE PROVIDE AN OPTION TO TURN IT OFF!!

Exactly what "File > Options > Proofing" are you talking about? Microsoft trashed the Office 2016/365 OneNote (which had those options) in favor of it's "new, improved, but with less functionality" OneNote for Windows 10. Instead of "have you tried..." things which no longer exist, how about...

• Have you tried reading toph95's question so you can answer for the current version of OneNote so you don't point to links which do not deal with the program?
• Have you tried doing your recommended solution in OneNote before answering?

I came across this thread trying to find a solution to the same problem. For every © symbol I need, I need a (c) subparagraph indicator about 1,000 times.

If the answer is, "sorry, you can't. Microsoft doesn't believe you need to do that, so it removed your ability to make those changes,"  so be it. But please avoid the all-to-common "I'll make up my own question and answere that one because I don't have an answer to yours."

I have the same issue with AutoCorrect on OneNote.  I am familiar in all other Office365 applications how to change autocorrect settings.  The version of OneNote that I am using in Office365 doesn't have a File menu, so I can't go to File > Options.

My ribbons only include Home, Insert, Draw, and View.  There is a settings menu with an options category that lets me turn off AutoCorrecting the first letter capitalization, but that's the only option I appear to be able to change.

The fact that this isn't an option is insane to me. Not being able to turn this off makes the product effectively useless to me. I spend too much time correcting OneNote's overzealous and often wrong autocorrects.

Agreed. It wouldn't be such a big deal if it didn't "re-correct" things that I specifically went back and "un-corrected". I work in a field with a lot of acronyms, one of them being EHR. Currently, the only way to type that in OneNote is to type it, let OneNote "fix" it, then go back over and fix it again. If I backspace to change it back, OneNote "corrects" it again as soon as I finish re-typing it.

In short, this problem with OneNote is forcing me to break a habit I've had for 20+ years that no other software requires me to break, simply because Microsoft won't add the ability to turn off auto-correct.

As noted, you have the "new & (dis-)improved" OneNote UWP. 

The "Options" control has been moved from the removed File menu item.  

On the right side of the ribbon, click on the (unnamed/elipsis) 3 dots icon > click on Settings > click on Options > scroll down.  That being said, the only autocorrect option is for capitalization. Sorry.

You have 2 options:

1. submit a feedback to MS complaining about this missing feature
2. install OneNote 2016 again. (yes that is a real option)
