OneDrive crashes and deletes itself

On my laptop OneDrive (which has been working flawlessly for years) now crashes at random. It won't restart.  In fact it seems the exe file has disappeared.  I need to unistall it and reinstall it.  Had to do this three times in the last three days.

There are no error messages - the icon just disappears.

How do I diagnose and cure this?

    Hi all

    I have copied below the response from Malwarebytes.   

    This issue seems to be with the Web protection on your machine from the IP-based communication. I'll look deeper into why this is affecting you and not others, but can you disable your Web protection and verify that everything goes back to working correctly? <br> ---

    Any thoughts  ( and what does it mean?)

    what do you mean disable web protection? in Malwarebytes?  Not sure that I really want to do that. Especially since Malwarebytes caught a nasty one not too long ago.

    Maybe it is windows defender or whatever it is called nowadays.. I'll check permissions when I get back from vacation. 

    microsoft needs to learn how to play nice in the sandbox!!!

    well, back from vacation and turned the computer on again - guess what ?  onedrive deleted it's .exe file and had to be uninstalled and reinstalled again.]   The laptop onedrive disappeared while on vacation.

    He just means disable your "Web Protection" within Malwarebytes Premium.  If you have the free version of Malwarebytes you won't have this option.  Both of the computers I have OneDrive and Malwarebytes Premium installed on are having these crash/uninstall issues.  I'm going to disable web protection in Malwarebytes and see if it makes any difference.  If it does we need to get a hold of them to resolve this issue.
