OneDrive crashes and deletes itself

On my laptop OneDrive (which has been working flawlessly for years) now crashes at random. It won't restart.  In fact it seems the exe file has disappeared.  I need to unistall it and reinstall it.  Had to do this three times in the last three days.

There are no error messages - the icon just disappears.

How do I diagnose and cure this?

    Anita - good idea to add to Malwarebytes exclusions.....

    I've started quitting OneDrive and running without it most of the time.  Then when I've finished working, launching it and letting it synch... then quitting again.  Before it's had a chance to delete itself.  This is also providing a workround for me... but it's not good.

    How do we get M$ to take this seriously.  We're all paying them for this problem...

    Good Morning all.

    Yes I have Malwarebytes Premium running on my PC but could not see reports of any issue with OneDrive.

    I have listed OneDrive as an exclusion now and see if this helps.

    I have searched the Malwarebytes site as see no reference to issues with OneDrive so I would be very reluctant to remove Malwarebytes.

    Another issue with this problem is the duplicated files when OneDrive is reinstalled and syncs again.

    I am now also backing up to Google which just plods along and does the job. However this is not the answer, OneDrive back up quicker and I'm now paying for another back up service.

    I think we all accept that issue like this can and will arise, what is not acceptable is that it would seem nothing is being done about it.

    Oh well, not unexpectedly i glanced at my task bar and............ no OneDrive icon although it loaded fine this morning.

    Very frustrating as I want one folder synced in real time, all the time.

    So OneDrive has been uninstalled after the PC was switched on for a few hours rather then on Shut Down as I originally thought.

    I have OneDrive added as an exclusion with Malwarebytes and have no reports of issues.

    Whats interesting is that opening Windows Task Manager Start Up option it shows One Drive Status as "enabled," but "not measured" on Start up impact.

    Serious question, does anyone from Microsoft every read these Posts

    Just contacted malwarebytes   They responded  "This is not an issue we are facing"

    However they are going to investigate further but I think its now even more unlikely to be caused by them. I am sending further details to them and will update when i get a reply.

    I did not think that it was a Malwarebytes problem.

    Turned the computer on this morning and guess what?  Onedrive is not signed in.  I signed in and now it thinks it needs to process 32,000 changes.

    ridiculous.  I don't think anyone from MS actually reads these posts.
