OneDrive crashes and deletes itself

On my laptop OneDrive (which has been working flawlessly for years) now crashes at random. It won't restart.  In fact it seems the exe file has disappeared.  I need to unistall it and reinstall it.  Had to do this three times in the last three days.

There are no error messages - the icon just disappears.

How do I diagnose and cure this?

    I doubt that this has anything to do with Norton...

    I am having the exact same issue on a new Windows 10 workstation that has been up for a week.

    I've had to uninstall and reinstall Onedrive almost every day!

    I could understand it blocking it... but making it delete its exe file... isn't that a bit extreme??

    It could be that that may blocking onedrive, take a look whne you have a chance and let me know if need anything else.

    Hi - I'll try this in due course.... however I have realised that every time I've had this problem I think I have been using Norton WiFi VPN.... I'll investigate to see if this is a factor.

    But I'll try your suggestions too as soon as I get the chance.
