FIXMAPI 1.0 MAPI Repair Tool has stopped working

I have a user that is running Windows 10. We are using Office 365. She is trying to send an snip from the snipping tool through email. However when she sends it she get the FIXMAPI 1.0 MAPI Repair Tool has stopped working. The email still goes through but the popup message is annoying.

I have searched and looked through other topics and the suggestions have not worked for this. I have renamed the MAPI32.dll and ran the fixmapi.exe and that has not resolved the issue. I have ran an online repair on the Office 365 and that also has not fixed the issues. Any suggestions on what to look at to resolve this issue?

Good morning, all!

We opened a support case with Microsoft. Here is the information on the fix for this issue. It looks like fix won't be released until September. I just wanted to share.

From Microsoft:

We have received another related incident like this and there is a fix that has been put into build 16.0.8420.100. However, the fix is not available at the moment but you can check our site for availability.

I've updated my office 2016 (1708 Build 8431.2079) & restarted Win10 PC.

Still getting the FIXMAPI 1.0 MAPI Repair Tool has stopped working when using snip tool to send as email or file via explorer.

I've updated my office 2016 (1708 Build 8431.2079) & restarted Win10 PC.

Still getting the FIXMAPI 1.0 MAPI Repair Tool has stopped working when using snip tool to send as email or file via explorer.

You may have to do an offline and or maybe an online repair of office then.

Had the same issue with a user in Channel Version 1706 - after updating to 1709 (Build 8528.2139) the error did not re-appear.

I have the same issue Exchange 2013, using Mapi over HTTP Outlook 2016 (not 365) FULLY Patched as of Nov 2017. Outlook 2016 16.0.4549.1000

Windows 7 and 10 both have the same issue.

If we DISABLE MAPI over HTTP and recreate the profile, then it works however, this is not a solution as RPC over HTTP is now non-supported.
1. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Exchange.
2. Right-click Exchange, and then click New > DWORD. A new DWORD entry appears in the right pane.
3. Right-click the new DWORD entry, and then click Rename.
4. Type MapiHttpDisabled.
5. Right-click the MapiHttpDisabled entry, and then click Modify. The Edit DWORD Value dialog box appears.
6. In the Value box, type 00000001, and then click OK.
7. Close the Registry Editor.
8. Verify that the protocol has been changed to RPC over HTTP.
9. Restart Microsoft Outlook.
10. Press Ctrl and right-click the Microsoft Outlook icon in the notification area at the far right of the task bar.
11. Click Connection Status. The Microsoft Exchange Connection Status dialog box appears.
12. Verify that the value in the Protocol column is RPC/HTTP.
13. If the value is HTTP, delete the Microsoft Outlook profile, and then recreate it using the same service account.
