A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
It requires practice, but it works for me. I use it regularly.

Alt-Click is not working in Word 2016 but it still works in Outlook 2016 and all the other Office applications with that use the Research pane. It works in my old office 2007-2010 Word. How do I get it back.?

Still no way to fix this bug.
Microsoft broke the feature with their new modern Translator feature and did not give any notice of it or a way to fix it and it still works in all the rest of the Office apps. There are some suggested workarounds for the bug but they don't work on my PC. There is no way I can see to add the Alt+Click shortcut and the Group Policy change did not remove new the modern Translator feature.

Suggested workarounds, maybe someone else can get them to work.
If you still need or rely on the Alt+Click shortcut for Research pane, there are a few possible workarounds:

As Tanquen1 says, this thread is about Alt+Click to open the Research pane. Block selection requires Alt+Drag.
It has the same issue on other PCs.
It works in Outlook 2016.
It's Microsoft Office 365 Business
It's Word 2016.
It's up to date and Office Updates are turned on.
Version 1712 (Build 8827.2148 Click-to-Run)
Same issue in safe mode.
Our office just upgraded to Office 365 and all the PCs have the issue.
Hi Tanquen1,
We can confirm that should work in Word 2016. To further investigate the issue, please share your Office Product information:
1 - Product name, such as Office 365 ProPlus or Office Home and Student 2016
2 - Full version number.
Also please check the following information:
type "winword /s" in Cortana/Run.
Thanks,
Jim
