Sharepoint online frequent sites

My frequent sites never changes.  It is only showing 3 sites and they are sites I haven't visited in several months.  How do I get this to update with actual frequently visited sites?

Hi All,

Considering this thread has aged, it may be difficult for members and us to follow up separately. Besides, the original poster Stacey has resolved the issue, and we have also received feedback from other members that the issue has been resolved itself. This thread will be closed from further posting for affected users to easily identify the information since there may be different root causes for different tenants. 

You can follow the steps I mentioned in the summary above to try troubleshooting the issue.

  1. Ensure you have deleted the sites. If you are an admin in the tenant, please try removing the deleted site via Remove-SPODeletedSite command manually.
  2. After you manually delete the deleted sites, please wait for 30 days and check if the situation remains.

If the issue persists, please feel free to post a new thread in this forum, we are more than willing to help you resolve it separately.

  2. After you manually delete the deleted sites, please wait for 30 days and check if the situation remains.

Suggestion:

If the issue persists after you manually delete the sites for 30 days, since there may be different root causes for different tenants, please feel free to post back and let us know. We will collect the related tenant information, so that we can check more details and help you resolve the issue separately.

    Here we go again:

    Users: i have a problem

    Msft: ok we'll fix that in 45 days

    60 days later

    Users: I still have a problem

    Msft: oh, well, it's your responsibility to fix our ineptitude. Here's a weird script you have to run.

    Gimme a break. No competent company acknowledges a bug and then transfers the cost of fixing onto their paying customers. That's unacceptable.

    Yeah, and the reason this thread "has aged" is because the original answer (now conveniently unmarked as the answer) promised a fix that never happened - so more people are noticing this bug and reporting it here and elsewhere.  Now we're back to repeating the old excuse that "there may be different root causes for different tenants" - which is getting old. With so many different tenants reporting the same issue, is it not likely this is a global problem that only Msft can fix?

    We all make mistakes - the mark of a competent, customer-centric company is how they react to their mistakes. So far in this case, Msft is scoring 0 out of 10 on that front.

    I'm still having this problem.  I deleted dozens of sites and removed those sites from the site recycle bin using Remove-SPODeletedSite.  These sites still show up in SharePoint home page several weeks later.  This is really awful.
