Since the recent Office 2016 updates we have a number of users having an issue with scrolling through emails in Outlook.
Here's what happens;
User opens an email (or replies to an email).
Then the user tries to scroll to the top of the inbox (sorted by date order for example).
After dragging the scroll bar up to the top (via wheel or left click), the scroll bar jumps back down to show the 'active' email in the centre. Basically it keeps the view pane showing the last 'active' email in view.
There's no way of cancelling the active email. The users have to keep clicking higher up the list, or press 'Home' on the keyboard to get to the top.
We have re-installed/repaired 2016 install on multiple machines and it's only been happening since the recent updates.
How do we resolve this? I'm thinking it's a new feature but it's causing a lot of issues.

Correct Luke, no patches are needed. The change is purely on the service side. Outlook will pick up the change from the service and react to it.
Hi Messaging Administrator,
As Gabriel mentioned above, the issue is fixed in the latest Outlook client (Version 1705 (Build 8201.2102)) under current channel (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Version-and-build-numbers-of-update-channel-releases-ae942449-1fca-4484-898b-a933ea23def7?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US).
However, I notice your Outlook client is on the top of this version. It should be under first release for current channel. Given the situation, it is suggested you let your IT administrators change to current channel. Here is an article for your administrator’s reference:
@Jeff, if you are using Office 2016 Click-to-Run suites, please refer to the article below to revert to an earlier Office version:
Thanks,
Gary
We have the same issue on several PCs running Outlook 2016 - they are up to date on MS Office 365 ProPlus, version 1706 (build 8229.2045).
This issue is now even worse than before!!!!! I am running version 1705. Since updating to this version, searches are now broken, they don't work!
If I put a term into the search bar, it wont show items within the last day or o And when it searches, it has this annoying jump by the field, where you click the search term and it jumps back several days.
I cannot believe how buggy this version of Outlook is. Is there a way I can revert to an earlier version?
