MS Office Jumping Shaking jogging while scrolling or changing panes on external monitor

Mine jumps vertically all the time when I try to click to insert or edit text.  The document was created with Word 97 and has supposedly been converted through the 'Enable Editing' button.  The only thing I have found that stops it jumping up the page all the time to the last edited spot is to save the file.  Then it will let me click and edit where I want to without jumping. 

This is on a new desktop computer btw.... running W10 with Office 365.

I have the same problem, also using external monitor but sometimes even the built-in laptop (Lenovo T440) also has the same problem; which is driving me crazy and cursing Microsoft.  I noticed you recommend using the Office analyzer tool to collect specific data however when I click on the link for the tool I get the following

The Microsoft Office Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT) was removed from the Microsoft Download Center on June 11, 2018.

I'm running the latest Windows 10 version 1803 OS Build 17134.165, Office Pro Plus 2016 Word version 1807 build 10325.20082

Can you guys stop breaking this stuff with each new version?  Word has worked fine for the most part (large files with graphics have always been a problem) for the past 20 years.

Forgot to mention the run-away document only happens in multi-page view. One page view is not experiencing the same issue.

Not only do I experience the bouncing/shaking, but now something new.

When I scroll down to the last 2 or 3 pages of my document, the entire document scrolls off the screen automatically and can not be scrolled back into place. I have to go back to an earlier page, click onto this page, and then attempt to scroll back to the end of the document.

Working on HP ProBook with an extended monitor configuration. The symptoms occur on both the laptop and external monitor.  W10, MS2016.

Reading through most of these replies, I've seen a couple of answers. one is Control panel > System and security > System > Advanced system settings (in upper-left side) > Advanced tab > Settings in Performance box > Visual effects:

Another answer was to go into safe mode ... um, that is simply too much work.

In my scenario, I have three monitors (Desktop, not laptop). The Primary monitor is set to 4k, and the other two are at their native 1900x1080. The point here is that the primary monitor is set to a higher resolution different than the other two. 

Going back to the issue. Do you experience this on any monitor other than the primary monitor? Are they of the same resolution? 

My work around is, because I cannot do the above steps due to a security lockout by my security team, to open up the Word document on a monitor that is not the primary monitor. At which point, I do not get the "jiggly" document when scrolling. I can then move the document between all screens and it scrolls just fine. If I open up Word on the primary monitor and move the document on a secondary one, then I do get the "jiggly" screen. 

This also works on my Laptop with two external monitor scenarios. 

Like everyone else, this recently started happening after the most recent update. I believe it might have something to do with the graphics performance and switching display modes, especially if you are in enhanced display mode where dynamic sizing of objects on a higher resolution display, say 4k, appears as normal. When moving to the smaller display, Windows, Word in this case, is attempting to dynamically size the display to match the new, different monitor settings. 

I'm sure this is also reflective of the different monitor types and drivers. 

Perhaps someone can confirm this?
