OneNote is not responding to typing

Hey Guys,

Having an issue with OneNote for Mac at the moment where the keyboard stops working on OneNote and I cannot type anything until I restart the program.

Super annoying to keep restarting and every other application on my Mac works fine. I think it is a problem associated with the latest OneNote update.

My OneNote version is 15.35.1 (170616)

please let me know how to fix this?

Hi Jim and Mandrews0,

Office Insider is a preview program for consumer Office 365 subscribers, which is why you do not see it if you install OneNote via the Mac App Store.

For those who still have the issue on 15.38, please share the reproduce steps to help find the root cause if you do have one.

For those who can't update to 15.38, please wait until it is generally available to try it out.

As the thread is attracting a lot of spam, I will be locking the thread from further replies. If you have a solid reproduce steps to share, please create a new thread and we will respond in a timely manner.

    Hi Amro,

    In your case, we’d like to confirm the following information:

    1. According to your description, do you mean that OneNote works fine before updating to 15.35.1?
    2. The version of Operating System version (Go to Top menu>Click Apple icon>About this Mac).
    3. Could you try using safe mode to see if OneNote still has the issue? To do it, you may refer to the steps in this article: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac.

    We did just release an update to Mac OneNote which should have this fixed.

    As an FYI, it looks like this is still repro'ing with the current Mac build, 15.36.

    We are investigating this further.

    Hi Amro,

    About your Operating System, could you share the detailed version with us? Such as 10.12.5 or 10.12.4. As we test under the environment: OS 10.12.5

                                 OneNote version 15.35.1, we can’t repro the issue.

    Meanwhile, have you tried the safe mode I mentioned in previous post to see the outcome?
