Error Code: 0xE0000007 in OneNote

I have one section of one notebook in OneNote that keeps coming up with Couldn't Sync and showing the Error Code: 0xE0000007. I have gone through all the steps shown online:

Open the OneNote online, then open the Notebook section and use 'Open in OneNote' to open it on my desktop. Then try to sync - failed

Copy (not Move) all of the notes in the affected section to a newly minted section, delete the original section and sync the new one - failed

So I tried making some minor changes in the section, re-synced, got the 'Couldn't Sync' error, but when I check back online all of the changes I made have synced. Why am I getting this error?

Sad to report that "We ran into a problem syncing your notebook. (Error code: 0xE0000007)" has re-emerged on some of my notebooks, even with 15.39.

@agent AA1 Regarding Mac and iPad, when I had the sync issues back in 15.38, Mac, iPad andAndroid all had the same sync issue.  This speaks to something happening on their server, versus something locally to your machine.

It does seem like there is something in your particular situation though, that is causing additional problems.

    Questions:

    1. Do you have a lot of pages/sections in each notebook?
    2. Have you tried creating a brand new notebook and working with that for a while -- to see how it behaves?
    3. If you go to OneNote online, are you able to work with your notes normally there?

When the problems were really bad earlier, I reverted to editing all my notes via OneNote online. Certainly not ideal, but at least there were no sync issues.

@mwoffenden You definitely are right about throwing in the towel. I couldn't find any other software with the same benefits. However, I would be willing to go to something like Evernote if this issue isn't resolved.

The problems I'm experiencing are giving me flashbacks to a month ago with the horrible 15.38v. I simply don't understand how this keeps occurring. It has begin to happen on my iPad as well. Now it neither my iPad nor Mac Onenote sync. I wish it was just a false positive, as signing in/out and closing the notebook hasn't helped. The notebook just won't open at all now. On my iPad, resetting it has not opened the notebook either. It seems this is affecting only my latest notes too.

Sorry to hear that Agent AA1.  It's very frustrating, we all feel your pain.  Keep in mind that the sync error appears to be a false positive most of the time.  Even thought it complains and throws errors, nearly all of the time the sync happens -- albeit sometimes after a delay.

As far as throwing in the towel, many have tried.  However, even with it's quirks there are no other products that even come close to OneNote.

Many would suggest Evernote.  Personally I think the Evernote user interface is dreadful.  I tried to like it, I really did, just could not get there.

Just try ignoring the errors, you might be pleasantly surprised.
