When I have a privacy VPN active (such as Private Internet Access - PIA) I can't access the cloud features on Office 365 (such as online templates, OneNote sync to the cloud, Excel or Word saving to OneDrive directly, etc). I have tried 3 different VPN solutions: PIA, NordVPN and VPNArea and they all exhibit the same issue. Is there a way to solve this or to tell Office to bypass the VPN?

In the NordVPN application you must disable "Cyversec" and then, in the "Advanced Setting" change UDP protocol to TCP.
This worked for me.
For privateinternetaccess.com, just change the Connection Type to TCP in the settings panel.
NordVPN has has an article suggesting setting DNS servers and/or adding a default gateway 192.168.0.1 for the nordvpn TAP network adapter. I did both and it solved my problem.
I checked with their customer support whether there are security implications and they said it's completely safe.

After some testing, One Drive and the Autosave feature only worked intermittently. I read a post about changing the mtu setting for the network adapter. The article is: http://www.techkhoji.com/some-websites-not-loading-in-vpn-problem-fix/amp/
Following the article's instructions I lowered the mtu to 1472, which worked for me. After the adjustment One Drive and autosave worked properly, and websites that wouldn't open did.
I'll keep testing, but for now the mtu size change appears promising.
The article also mentions changing DNS settings if mtu change does not work. Instructions are given for that, too.

I can't begin to say how long I have sought a resolution to the Microsoft account sync issue whilst using NordVPN.
Having followed the suggested fix from **http://www.techkhoji.com/some-websites-not-loading-in-vpn-problem-fix/amp/** and lowering my MTU from 1500 to 1472 on my Ethernet & WIFI adaptor (not the the NordVPN adaptor), I can report that my Microsoft office sync issue has been resolved.
I have also ensured that all my TCP/IPv4 connections are pointing to Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
I hope this feedback helps others in a similar situation.
This also fixed my issue, just go to the WiFi adapter settings and select IPV6 and everything from MS finds network connection with vpn switched on :) thank you.
