This is happening to me too recently. It happens every time I go to copy text in Word. It appears right after I right click and select copy. It is really annoying. I thought it might be a phish so I just delete it. It sounds like a problem with a recent update now though. The screen shot elsewhere in this discussion is exactly what I see. Of note I copied this to paste elsewhere and the message did not appear so it might be restricted to Office.

Hi Everyone,

Since customers confirm the issue has been resolved by updating Office to the latest version, I'd like to make a summary which will benefit other community members who can quickly find the useful information.

Description

Open Word 2016 on Windows, select the text, and then right click it to choose Copy, the following message pops up and ask us to sign in to open

"https://shredder.osi.office.net/ShredderService/api/aadgraph/gettenantdetails"

 

Solution

Update Office to the latest version: Open Word or other Office clients>File>Account>Update Options>Update Now.

    Lots of people having this problem BUT missing the key single detail - 

    Sign In is activated by a right+click+copy in both word 2016 and outlook 2016

    This is NOT pointing to a domain operated by Microsoft!

    This can't be a sharepoint issue this must be a phish! It looks like the phish is using sharepoint as the trojan so I don't want to add sharepoint.com to trusted sites.

    How do we escalate this and get this thing out of our Office program?

    It is domain registred by Microsoft:

    Hi All,

    @Tim Thanks for your information. We still want to know if you have performed the steps below to check the results.

    1. Try using Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V.
    2. Sign out all the accounts, clear the Windows credentials, and make sure you are not connecting to online service and check the result. This can help us identify whether the issue is an online or local issue. Here are the steps:
    1. Open Word, click File > Account > Sign outunder User information.
    2. Clear the Windows credentials: go to Control Panel > Credential Manager > Remove the Windows Credentials (e.g. MicrosoftOffice15_Data:xxx or MicrosoftOffice16_Data:xxx). (NOTE: This will remove your stored passwords.)
    1. Open IE > Tools > Internet Options > find Security tab > choose Trusted sites > click the Sites button > add *.sharepoint.com to the list>Open Word again and check if there is any improvement. Please understand that sharepoint.com is not hijacked, you can add it to the trusted site.

    @ Scott  & Csv11, kindly let us know the result after you performing the steps above.  If the issue persists, please help to provide the tenant information and the version of your Office applications via Private Message for us to engage the related team to investigate this issue. If you are not a tenant administrator, I would suggest that you share this thread with your administrator and respond with the requested information.
