Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
I found this in another Microsoft forum. Maybe it will help people here. Why it hasn't been posted here I don't know. I have not tested it because I am not using the 365 version, but I am considering trying it with regular Office 2016. Here is the post and the link:

Hi Dyan,
I suggest you perform the steps below and check the result.
1. Remove Office 365 related credentials. To do it, open Control Panel >Credential Manager > Windows Credential> Generic Credentials, then delete any items which contains MicrosoftOffice15_Data orMicrosoftOffice16_Data.
2. PressWindow + R, type inregedit >enter, and check the location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity\Identities
Then delete any folders under identities.
If you are using Office 2013, please replace16.0 with 15.0.
3. Reset Internet Explore settings. Close all Internet Explorer, then start Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet options>Advanced tab >Reset > in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset > Ok > Restart your PC to apply changes.
4. Try signing in Office application with your Office 365 account again.
If the issue persists, I would like to collect the following information:
1. A screenshot of the error message if any one.
2. Regarding "We don't see however the subscription option as I believed we are using the company license."
How many users in your company have this issue?
3. When did you encounter this issue? Did it occur when you opened document from SharePoint online or when you signed in? If neither is your case, can you share more detailed information with us?
4. If possible, we still need the screenshot of your subscription. To check it, log into the Office portal > click your avatar in the top right corner >View account > Subscription.
5. A screenshot of the Office version. To check it, open one program, then clickFiles >Account. You will see the version just under Office Updates.
Regards,
Linda
