Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component could not modify 137 protected registry keys during installation or update of Office 365

In installing and re-installing Office 365 Home (64-bit install on Win 7 Pro 64-bit), I get approx. 137 Warnings in Event Viewer like the following:

Product: Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component. The application tried to modify a protected Windows registry key \msinkdiv.InkDivider.1.

I did a deep uninstall and reinstall just to see if this could be avoided, but no.  It happens on each install or repair or reinstall.

Here's all the info for one of these - but keep in mind there are 137 different ones (different keys being named):

Thanks.  How many at one time, roughly?

Yes I have had the warnings for some months now but they have not reached the 70 mark as yours has done (correction: gotten to)

    Cromdans - thanks.

I take it you DO see those Warnings about protected registry keys, yes?  If the tech reads your post above, he won't understand what you meant by "got to".

I understand from you that you have the Warnings (you "got" them) but you haven't done anything about them (you haven't "gotten to" them).

    Please confirm.

Sorry.  I'm arguing with a very stubborn guy who has only one script.

Apps which previously ran on say Win XP may not run on Win 10 so to possibly have them run on Win 10 you can run them in compatibility mode. Right click on the file, click 'Properties' and the tab 'Compatibility', click 'Run Compatibility Trouble Shooter'. In my case the Click-To-Run shows 'Incompatible'.

Office 'Click-To-Run' runs in the background on the OS and updates 'Office' software. See this link

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Update-repair-or-uninstall-Office-2010-Click-to-Run-products-29179478-9270-4BB9-843D-F2FEC3D56C3E

I have not got to the 70 plus warnings yet but it does bother me that protected keys are targeted.

Tell your Tech 2 friend from me that we can't all have duff operating systems and he needs to advise Microsoft Office of the problem. I have reinstalled Win 10 and get the errors.

    Cromdans - Thanks again.

    1)  What is the compatibility check?

    2)  Also, what does Office Click-To-Run do, anyway?

    3)  Finally, I take it from your two posts that you have the same errors - 70 or so Warnings in Event Viewer that protected keys couldn't be modified.

Sorry to be picky, but I'm fighting with a stubborn Tech 2 who insists it's my operating system, when all my sfc /scannows are 100% clean.
