Some images in Publisher 2016 not displaying

Here are my answers w/regard to Rena's suggestions/questions for Philippe -

1. The picture came from my computer, not the Internet.  And I would usually 'copy & paste' it (.JPG file at 109KB) to every new project item within the same file.

2.  I only found this fix-it thread, as of 3/3/2017.

3.  Yes, the issue of 'no photo image being displayed' occurs in all of my 8 files & when I 'save-as' file #8 the issue was still evident.

4.  Here is a screenshot of the correct image being displayed (my OK2BG logo in the lower right-hand corner) when I print the file -

(As I mentioned in my previous response - When I go to View > Graphics Manager > (locate one of the images not displaying & click the side toggle) > Details // The .jpg image displays there, okay.)

4. Here is a screenshot of the image not displaying in my file -

And you can see that all the images are blank in the mini-icons of my 7 other postcards on the left-side panel, except for the last one on the bottom, which I just added to see if it might also disappear at some point.

To your questions -

6. The steps I took when I first encountered the problem was that I simply opened the file & there it was, or was not.  As I mentioned in my previous thread, the only other different thing I did before I closed the file was to make/print pdf files of each postcard.
7. I checked for Office updates (inside Publisher) & it said 'You're up to date! - The latest version of Office is installed on your computer' at these coordinates - File > Account > Office Updates > (toggle for) 'Update Now'

I thought I read somebody's suggestion about checking recent updates -

When I check for any recent updates at - Control Panel > (type 'updates' in the Search Field) > Programs & Features > View installed updates > there were only 2 recent updates on 2/22/2017 w/regard to a Security Update for Adobe Flash Player & an update for Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

8. I have Windows 10 > Microsoft Office Home & Business 2016 aka Publisher 2016 version 16.0.7766.2060 installed on 3/3/2017 (not sure what that date means, maybe a hidden update?!)

Other than that...I still like Publisher, but am hesitant to do any further work in my files and/or I do not want to replace all 500 of the errant images across all my file/projects.

I would suggest that you look at what 'patch' from MSFT created this problem with Publisher as the OP's problem is not unique.

Publisher 2016 and to a lesser degree, Publisher 2013 have been choking on pictures, especially high resolution, large file size images, in one way or the other since they were introduced. It was as of Pub 2013 that MSFT took away the picture display option to 'Fast resize and zoom' and left only 'detailed display' and 'hide pictures'. Pub 2010 and older had no problem rendering image intensive Pub files. These same files started choking in Pub 2013 and 2016 and frequently ended up with the inserted images not displaying or even the whole file going corrupt.

If the OP does provide you with his working file I suggest you try opening it with Pub 2010 or even Pub 2007 with the 'Fast resize and zoom' picture option checked and I expect it would open just fine.

I don't know if this will lead to a solution for Pub 2016 users but as I said before MSFT removed the 'Fast resize and zoom' option there was no problem inserting large file size, high resolution images into a Pub file. Perhaps this fact will lead to a solution for how Pub 2016 was broken with your last 'patch' and hopefully a long term solution.

Can you confirm if you did the steps from Rena? Also, can you provide a screenshot of the issue as well as the steps you did on how you encounter it?

Check if you have the latest updates for your Office application. To verify, go to File > Accounts and then Update now. Provide the current version after you update.
