Outlook on android - receiving notifications, but emails don't show in inbox.

I use outlook for android (Motorola Moto G running Android 5.1) and it worked great until a couple of days ago. Now I get notifications of new emails, but the messages don't show up in my inbox. If I click a notification to try and read the email, it says 'Couldn't open message', and takes me back to my inbox, which shows only old messages.

Please help!

    Same problem here.

    Phone: Honor8, Nougat

In the past I deleted Outlook app, O365 accaount, Work account. Just to get clear table and start from zero.

    This usually helps.

    Today had this problem again.

    I tested following:

Settings - Accounts - Work account, here I deleted my work account.

I then added my work account and got notification to installa microsoft workaccount certificate, I did this.

Opened Outlook app and now its syncing OK.

So just delete/add work account helped.

    Lets see next time.

Why and when this problem occures?

I have noticed that there might be somethig to do with powersaveing action done by android/huawei.

Latest problem started when I had low battery and phone shutted down.

Some how sync is not re-enabled after recharge.

Seen this also when travelling and using power save modes of android/huawei

I would really like to get final fix to this.

New Android S8 and S7 Edge both have this problem when set to work through WiFi. Once these phones are away from the WiFi and are using usual cell service all is well.  I believe the phones are working on other WiFi networks, such as at my home, but not at work.  The work internet access is through Hughes net satellite service.  Any idea on how to correct this problem?  Outlook has been removed and reloaded multiple times with the same results.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (SAMSUNG-SM-G925A) with the most up to date Android operating system and the latest Outlook app.  I just downloaded and started using this App yesterday and I have this same issue.  I'll receive the notification for a new email in the Android preview pane, but when i open the Outlook app, the email isn't there.  I get a "Couldn't Open Message" error when trying to update my Inbox.

I see this has been an issue almost for an entire year.  Will this be fixed or has Microsoft stopped caring?

I've given up on the Outlook app for Android.  I've connected all of my accounts to the native "Gmail" Exchange integration.  I even managed to add my Hotmail/Outlook.com as an Exchange account using server "outlook.office365.com" (I don't have an Office 365 subscription).  Now I have all of my email accounts, calendars, contacts, AND WORKING NOTIFICATIONS.

    Ps.  I miss Windows Phone.
