Outlook on android - receiving notifications, but emails don't show in inbox.

I use outlook for android (Motorola Moto G running Android 5.1) and it worked great until a couple of days ago. Now I get notifications of new emails, but the messages don't show up in my inbox. If I click a notification to try and read the email, it says 'Couldn't open message', and takes me back to my inbox, which shows only old messages.

Please help!

    Hi Dan,

There are several reasons why an issue occurs, sometimes this may be caused by some files or components that are broken or missing on the system. To isolate your concern, we'd like to know the following information:

    • Were there any changes that happened prior to the issue?
    • Do you see any error messages? If yes, can you provide us the exact message?

On the other hand, we suggest that you Sign out on your Outlook app then Sign in again and check if the issues persists.

We're looking forward to your response.

No changes made. No error messages.

Outlook notifies and notifications show up. Open Outlook app and no new messages appear. Refreshing doesn't work. Refreshing again doesn't work. Refreshing a third time may or may not work.

    Worst Email App ever.

    No changes made prior.

    No error messages.

Usually the 3rd or 4th sync works after about 5 mins.

I have tried the reset account functionality, I have uninstalled and reinstalled.

After reinstall the issue began again after 3 days.
