Outlook on android - receiving notifications, but emails don't show in inbox.

I have the same issue in june 2019, the notifications show but the app doesnt update the emails.

As described, I turned off the battery optimizacion on the authentication app and the mails showed instantaneously as if they were there all the time.

How exactly are you disabling power saving only for Outlook? Wanting to know for 2 reasons: 1. It may not have the same success for fixing the outlook issue as disabling power saving altogether, and 2. Cuz i want to try it but cant figure it out. (I dont see an option to turn off power saver for specific apps and i am assuming you are not simply turning off optimization for outlook, because that's sort of related but different)

Assuming you are on Android 8+ (if not, the steps will be similar), go to Settings -> Apps, find "Outlook" and tap on it.  In the screen that comes up, look for "Battery", and tap that.  That should bring up the "Use details" screen.  At minimum make sure "Allow background activity" is enabled.  If it is, and you are still having issues, disable battery optimization by tapping "Optimize battery usage" to go to the battery optimization screen.  Tap the dropdown at the top which should say "Apps not optimized" and change it to "All", then scroll down your list until you find Outlook.  Tap it to turn battery optimization for Outlook off, then hit Back or Home until you're back to whatever you were doing beforehand.

While I was having this issue in an earlier build of Android 9 with optimizations enabled, the most recent versions from T-Mobile on my Galaxy S9+ work fine with "Allow background activity" enabled alone, even if battery optimizations are turned on for Outlook, so you may find success that way.  If not, turning battery optimization off should definitely work (but make sure "Allow background activity" is still enabled!).

I enede upbtrying a couple other mail apps and theybworked ok but the feature I like is that Outlook has a Wear OS interface that supports calendar and email. I reinstalled and things are working a bit better now.

Try turning off battery saver. Let me know if the issue goes away! I can verify that it worked on android but i dont have an iphone anymore to test it.
