Outlook on android - receiving notifications, but emails don't show in inbox.

I use outlook for android (Motorola Moto G running Android 5.1) and it worked great until a couple of days ago. Now I get notifications of new emails, but the messages don't show up in my inbox. If I click a notification to try and read the email, it says 'Couldn't open message', and takes me back to my inbox, which shows only old messages.

Please help!

    I have the same issue. It started when I synced 2 Microsoft 365 outlook emails tot the outlook app. I get notifications but the email does not appear when I open the app.

    I have uninstalled, cleared cache, synced only one account and still get the Same issue. If I restart the phone it syncs once and the not again. 

    Work around is using webmail and installing 2 web browsers so I can log on each email account. 

    How can I fix this?

    I don't even know what Microsoft Authenticator is. It is not in my list of apps. How do I get to it, to change its settings?

    Yes GC, that's when my exact same problem began, as well.

    Something must have happened in one of the updates from either Microsoft or Android.

    I have been receiving emails to my Samsung S8 with out issue using Outlook in Office 365 until a couple of weeks ago. I am receiving email pop-up notifications but when I go to open the email, I am unable to open the email and it does not display at all. I have deleted the app and reinstalled, which fixed the problem but then it started happening all over again. Has Microsoft got a fix for this?
