Onenote for Mac - Change layout back to old style - Tab bar missing!!!

Thank you for giving us feedback on the new navigation.

As you’ve noticed, we have made some design updates and based on feedback from existing customers, we focused on 3 key areas:  1) consistency across platforms, (2) usability for those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, and (3) improving organization and navigation of notes**.** Regardless of what device someone is using, the experience will be the same, so people can capture thoughts, add files and get things done more quickly with no time required to learn new design patterns. We also focused on making OneNote more usable for those with disabilities such as vision and mobility impairments. We interviewed hundreds of people and analyzed product telemetry to understand how to best improve OneNote for use with screen readers and keyboard shortcuts. This design update makes OneNote easier to use for everyone. We also worked with users to learn how we could improve the navigation layout, especially for larger notebooks with more sections. Now, the navigation controls are all in one area on the left-hand side of the app. which allows people to easily switch between their notes and maintain focus on their work rather than the clicks in the app. 

We encourage you to try the new navigation and let us know what you like, what you don't like, and where we might improve.

Please try out the following:

• Resize the navigation panes by dragging from their borders with your mouse.
• Hide the navigation panes, or toggle previews of page content, by opening the View menu and choosing Navigation Panes.
• Change the position in the page list where new pages are created via Settings (on Windows and iOS) or Preferences (on Mac).

I manage a few product lines for my company and organize everything in OneNote.

I switched from Evernote to OneNote partly because OneNote had a better spatial interface for my Macbook Air 11 inch screen (which I use in the evenings, at home). But it also allowed me to have necessary browsers and applications open on my big screen at work. 

Having the tabs on top was absolutely crucial to my space needs. 

With the recent change, regaining stolen space requires cumbersome hide/unhide. It feels more disorienting than driving on left side of the road.

Having 30% of your screen occupied by files is like going back in time to before [things like] drop down menus. This is insane.

I do not want to switch myself and my team back to Evernote because migration takes so much time, and besides I really do prefer OneNote's top-tap layout. It wasn't perfect, but it was good enough for our company to consider moving further into the Microsoft ecosystem, e.g., Outlook, etc. 

Is there a way to get my OneNote back?

[This is one of those situations where the squeaky wheel got the grease. I wonder if the number of silent happy users were correctly weighted? Is there a way to find out who made this decision and gently lobby their superiors? It seems unfair to make DeniseC endlessly repeat standard-op overtures, "thanks for your feedback", etc.]

Please bring back the tabs. The new look is a waste of space. I am switching to Evernote until I can get the tabs back.

Why change one of the best apps that Microsoft created to this unusable thing.

I tried turning off the experimental button, but did not change it.
