Student Progress Database Application

Hello everyone!

I want to make an application for keeping track of students’ progress marks each month of the year using Access 2010. Suppose I have 10 literacy centers in 10 different locations each with 35-40 students enrolled. I want to generate a monthly Access  report showing the progress of each student in each of the subjects taught.

I have designed forms for entering details of each center, instructor and student saved in separate tables. All I need to do is find a way to generate month-wise students’ progress reports for each of the 10 literacy centers to be handed over to the center manager.

What would be the best way this could be done using Access 2010?

    This should not be difficult. Use the form wizard to create a main form, Use the Combobox wizard to create a "search" combo to select a Center. Use the form wizard again to create your subform as a tabular form. Finally use the Subform wizard to embed the subform on the main form.

    Hi,

    So I need a form to display a form by Center Code and not by StudentID. I would like to have a combo box on the mainform and then select a center by center code, so the subform displays only students belonging to that particular center and then just type in the marks into the courses.

    I'm finding it extremely difficult to do this. Can you please help me?

    Or if you know of a better way how to enter marks of each student for a particular month, please help me design the form.

    Part of this is your choice. I can things being done two ways. Either by Course/Center or by Student. 

    So you create a main form. that mainform will either be bound to the Student or the Course/Center. You then have a subform bound to the Progress table. Depending on what the main form is bound to this will be linked on the appropriate key field. 

    The subform will be in continuous form mode so you would add a record in the subform for each grade.
