Change the sharepoint.aspx page

If you click the "sharepoint" tile in the app launcher, you are now taken to _layouts/15/sharepoint.aspx.

This page is an embarassment so how do I edit/change it?

The "you visited" information shown is rubbish - it's completely inaccurate, out of date and of no use whatsoever to a user. Where is the data pulled from and why does Msft think anyone would want to see this?

We understand admins may have requirements to custom the SharePoint home page or directly change it to the page you want. As we discussed above, the best way to influence our products and services is to submit your feedback via SharePoint Online Uservoice. It will let our related team hear your voice. Many good features are added from customers' good suggestions.

As a workaround, you may create a custom tile. So, users can directly access the SharePoint Online page which is customized by you.

Hi Tim,

Come on, every MSFT SharePoint employee should be aware by now that the Recent suggestions aren't updating correctly and that this (plus the lack of customization) is a huge problem. It's sad that the SP homepage is so unwelcoming, and that Microsoft is staunchly refusing to admit the customers' issues with it. Just look at these pages:

I hope that with a redirect to the announced Hub Sites we'll be able to stay away from the SP homepage in the future, but for now we seem to be stuck with just an awful navigation experience.

I could not agree MORE. This is a crap page + landing 'experience'.

Office 365 configuration should allow you to change the URL this button goes to.

Or - just direct to "tenant.sharepoint.com" - not the _layouts/15/sharepoint.aspx page...

As we discussed above, could you share with us the tenant info and trace logs for the issue in the private message? The log file may help us check how or where the recent site section get the result. And then check why those sites which should not appear in that section still appears. With your tenant info, our related team may directly contact you to discuss further.
