Excel for Mac only printing in one orientation

I have no problem printing portrait and landscape within one single document in Word for Mac with my current printer driver. However, when I print from a worksheet from Excel (Mac) that has portrait and landscape sheets within it, it prints them all to portrait, unless I change it in the Print menu, but then it will print all sheets to whatever orientation I select. This is so easy to do in the Windows version of Excel. How come I can't do it in a Mac????? I already did the trick of moving the Excel plist to the desktop. That didn't work. I don't think I have a printer driver problem because I don't have a problem with Word. This is my first Mac computer. Please help!!!!

Please restrain yourself from multiple postings of the same issue. It's in bad taste, promotes the ignoring of the thread. I have merged (I think all Multiple copies) into this one thread the deleted the multiple attempts. If I have missed any, my apologies.

First, you posted your question on a weekend. Which means that most people are occupied with other matters. Also, as you know many of the volunteers don't live in the Americas. So many are asleep that could answer the question.

I've tried a test where I changed orientation, of one sheet.  And you are correct regardless of what can be set  from the ribbon you can only use either Portrait or Landscape, The mac version can't mix.

So to do what you need is create two files, one that has the landscape orientation, and one with the Portrait orientation.the collate by hand. 

Please refrain from Multiple posts, and wait for an answer.

I'm afraid I don't have a solution but FWIW I have no similar problem here regardless of whether my Epson or my HP is the selected printer. Nor have I seen any similar complaints :-)

If the sheet is set to Landscape (using either the button on the Page Layout tab or through the File> Page Setup dialog) it appears as Landscape in the Print window.

Likewise, even if the sheet is set for Portrait & I choose Landscape in the Print dialog the switch is passed back to the file.

Method1: Try changing the orientation:

Open word -> click on Page Layout  tab-> Orientation-> select  Landscape and try printing .

Method2: Try printing the document using other printer ( e.g. OneNote, Microsoft xps) for this :

Click on office button-> print-> from the drop down select  the One note or Microsoft xps .

    Everyone if you sent a complaint by the Smiley Button, try going to the Suggestion Box Website. Here are the directions:

    Microsoft Suggestion Box Websites:

    1. Excel SuggestionBox
    2. PowerPoint Suggestion Box
    3. OutLook Suggestion Box
    4. OneNote SuggestionBox
    5. WordSuggestionBox

    Directions:

    • Click on the Link above that matches the application you want to report on.
    • Sign in using same password and Username/email address.
    • Next Locate the link for you particular version (example: Excel 2016 Mac).
    • Now look for your Bug Report/Complaint/Suggestion, to see if already reported.
    • If so, vote for it, and add a comment detailing your issues.
    • If not, create a Bug Report/Complaint/Suggestion.

    (When you submit your report, it's given one vote).

    • Make a Comment detailing why it's needed if it is a suggestion or,

    why/how it happens if it's a bug report.

    I've notice with at least Excel - recently Microsoft has completely done away with the options button on Page setup which allows Excel go to the actual Printer Setup. You now have predefined page orientations and that is it. That is definitely wrong, You don't mess with The Print Driver and That is exactly what they are doing. In Mac the application has never controlled the Printer. The Printer Driver is part of the system it has been ingrained that way in a Mac since the first Fat Mac came out. Applications simply feed instructions to the Driver. The driver is 100% responsible for the print job.
