    Hello,

Please try the following methods to fix the activation issue. After each method, try activating Office again.

    Temporarily disable your Windows firewall

    1. In Search, type firewall, and then select Windows Firewall.
    2. Select Turn Windows Firewall on or off. You might be asked for an admin password or to confirm your choice.
      • Note: If your PC is connected to a network, network policy settings might prevent you from completing these steps. For more info, contact your administrator.

After you've disabled the firewall, try to activate Office again. After attempting to activate Office, turn your firewall back on.

Try to activate before trying the next step.

    Reset TCP/IP

To reset the TCP/IP, click on the Fix it icon below.

You will be prompted with a dialog box to Open or Save. Select Open, and then follow the on screen instructions. After the Fix it has run, reboot your system and try the Office activation again.

Alternatively, you can manually reset the TCP/IP by going to "Let me fix it myself" and following the instructions.

Try to activate before trying the next step.

    Add Net Local Group

To add a Net Local Group you'll need to run a few commands from command prompt. To do this, open command prompt with administrator privileges:

    1. In search, type command prompt,
    2. In the search results, right click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator

Copy the following commands and past them into the command prompt by right clicking and selecting paste (you cannot use CTRL + V in command prompt to paste)

Copy one command at a time and press enter after pasting each one in the command prompt

          net localgroup Administrators localservice /add

    *fsutil resource setautoreset true C:*

    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

After you've entered all of the commands, reboot your system and try activating Office again.

    Verify TLS 1.2 is enabled

Transport Layer Security Protocol (TLS) is an industry standard designed to protect the privacy of information communicated over the internet. Verify that it's enabled by viewing your internet properties and make sure that there's a check in the box beside Use TLS 1.2. Follow these steps to check:

    1. Press the Windows key + R. This will open the Run command window.
    2. In Run command, type inetcpl.cpl and click OK.
    3. On the Internet Properties window, select the Advanced tab.
    4. In the Settings list, scroll down until you find Use TLS 1.2 (located closer to the bottom of the list). If the box beside it is empty, click the box to add a check.
    5. Click on Apply and close the window.

After you've enabled TLS 1.2, try activating Office again.

After many irritated days setting up a local group fixed it in minutes. Thanks.
