Stop the "don't lose access to your account" nonsense.

I'm prevented from logging in by a "set it up now" button on the generic log in page (using IE10). Like any security conscious enterprise, my company manages my passwords and isn't interested in this "nanny state" option. How do I bypass it?

    Hi everyone,

Please be informed that I have shared this to the related team. Will let the team to review and I will share back any information that I received here. I will post back in the next 72 hours or earlier on the status.

@ITGuyArbor, I have replied back to your PM since your organization is running on a Single Sign-On environment to collect additional information.

    Thanks,

    Hi everyone,

Here is the update i got from the team. Please take note on the following items that matches the behavior your are experiencing.

    1. Global administrator account on a Single Sign-on/Federated environment

    • Engineering team is still looking into this. Global administrator can ignore the message by clicking "Cancel" to return to the admin center.

    2. Global administrator on a NON Single Sign-on/NON Federated environment

    • This is a feature that was introduced in February that requires verification from global admin. The best practice is for admin to complete the verification process.
    • I have also shared feedbacks that i received on this threads to the related team
    • @MadDad, following up on your feedback "if an Admin leaves the company but we need to keep the account active, we do not want them to have the ability to change the password just because they supplied a personal email or phone number. We want to control that through our access." : The best practice for an employee who left an organization is to block the access https://support.office.com/en-us/article/How-to-block-employee-access-to-Office-365-data-44d96212-4d90-4027-9aa9-a95eddb367d1?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

    *Note:

This is not a blocker for authenticated Global Administrator to access Office Admin Center.

This Does NOT impact and NOT applicable to end users.

At this moment i have no further information to share, however i will monitor and share more information once i receive any updates on item#1.

    Thanks,

    Chee Loon

I have unresolved threads at "Don't lose access to your account" message returns and another from a couple of months ago at

Removing the new message - Add information to your account so you don’t lose access if you ever forget your password (unresolved since the issue returned and still exists).

NOTE:  BTW - this is occuring for admins of any kind (not just Global admins)
