I have just been advised by AutoUpdate of this Update to the program but it will not download. I get "An Unexpected Error has Occurred" warning after a period of time. It is as if it has Timed-Out
I had a similar problem with the latest Outlook update for the Mac too but someone cleared that up and it eventually downloaded a few days later. Similar Fault?
I have tried several different sources to get a viable download with no success.

Try this workaround:
Go to system preference - network - advanced - DNS
Add 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to the DNS server.
select OK - Apply.
Then try running the update.

Daft Question coming up -
I presume, from what you have said, that you, too, are also on a Wi-Fi connection between Computer and Router rather than both Wi-Fi and Cable?
Now that you have the new DNS addresses in the machine and applied these changes instead of trying the manual download try the Microsoft AutoUpdate route again.
Have you tried switching off your router and leaving it for a couple of minutes until all of the power has been discharged rather than do an immediate re-boot? Sometimes the router requires a bit of down-time to itself.
The only other thing that springs to mind is to turn off your AV Software since this could be blocking access to the server?

My download and install went perfectly this time. 15.20 I believe.
If you have added the 8.8.8.8 and the 8.8.4.4 then that should get you a download onto the machine. I shut my MAC down and restarted it in SAFE Mode and then run the download again. The original was still on the machine and it carried out the Install and Verify part.
I did not need to shut down Kaspersky to do this but if you are using something else try shutting your AV down and then try again. If you have not done a full shut down for a while do so and leave the machine completely powered down for about 10 minutes. Do a restart and try again. Sometimes, they get temperamental!

ps Michael the two addresses just give direct access to the download rather than have to go through Microsoft's rather 'flaky' access port. Do delete ALL the existing copied of AutoUpdate and reinstall from source.
