Jim,
Thanks for your reply.
I appreciate this is a user forum and those here are trying to help, and I am grateful for any guidance they offer.
I've looked all over the net for a solution to this problem. Thousands of users have this issue.
To be fair I've only just encountered this issue as I only recently updated Office to the most recent version.
However it is very apparent that this BUG has been a problem for users in various guises since the launch.
Are we to believe that Microsoft are unaware of this BUG 4 years after launch?
Is it because the majority of users encountering problems seem to be MAC users, are Microsoft simply ignoring the problem?
I only have Office because this is how most of my customers supply files.
I had the issue fixed yesterday by deactivating all my non-essential fonts on Suitcase and rebooting, Word worked all day. Opened today - back to square one.
It is not possible to reformat disk drives.
It is not possible to put the file in the 'Containers folder' every time (which does work, but I can't access the hidden files when trying to attach or place files from this location - so not a suitable work-around).
It is not possible to simply change my font management software because Microsoft can't be **** fixing a 4 year old bug.
It is not possible to reboot every time I need to open or edit a word doc.
It is not possible to repair disk permissions on High Sierra.
It is possible for Microsoft to offer a solution.
