Had the same problem for two years. So I understand your frustration, and I am so sorry your having this issue.
I also tried every solution listed thus far, and none worked for me.
Here is what worked for me. and what I think caused the problem.
- I had multiple installs of MS word over the past few years for three different employers/clients. each time I uninstalled them and reinstalled the new version.
- I did not deactivate before I I deinstalled.
- I think... that my old activations or permission files were causing the problems with the document permissions in the new installs. Or perhaps it was satanic magic from MS.
I recently did a clean install of high sierra and ALL my permission problems disappeared.
(do not migrate your old programs with the migration assistant, it will migrate your old library items and that was my problem).
I know its a harsh solution. but it fixed my adobe issues and my Microsoft issues.
Took me an afternoon to reinstall the old apps and documents on a 4 tb drive.
