Office 2016 keeps reverting color theme back to Colorful

I installed Office 2016 as an upgrade to 2013.  Put the color scheme on grey (because annoyingly the awesome Black went away sometime in the preview.)

Now I have a weird issue where every time I close all of the 2016 applications and then reopen one of the applications, the theme has changed from grey to colorful.  This applies to reboots or just closing them all and then later opening one back up.  Oddly as well today (10/5/2015) I walked away from the computer to talk to a co-worker in the next office.  When I came back, it was on colorful again.  However that is the only time it has changed itself while open.

It seems to work correctly when it is set to Grey.  So for instance, say I open Outlook and change the theme to Grey.  When I open Word or Excel, they are also Grey as they should be.

So I'm just throwing that out there as a potential bug

Our domain computers and servers updates are controlled by WSUS server (forced by GPO) so I guess this is the reason why I don't have this button.

So, is there any other way do download and apply the fix? Any KB... ?

Sorry, I don't have that experience.  ASK that question on the parallel business forum at the link I provided last time. They will have experience with WSUS and GPOs.

This site provides KB numbers for 365 monthly updates: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/office\_sustained\_engineering/2016/06/07/june-2016-non-security-office-update-release/

Take a look at this site: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/What-s-New-and-Improved-in-Office-2016-for-Office-365-95c8d81d-08ba-42c1-914f-bca4603e1426?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

It provides ongoing information about monthly updates to Office 365. Unfortunately they are slow updating it, so the June updates are not there yet.  Also unfortunate is that it does not provide KB links, it is generic user level carp.

Here are some more what's new type links for 365:

OK, but I still don't have answer for my question:

Is there any other way (than Account->Update) to download and apply the fix?

    Hello everyone,

We have released a fix for this feature in the latest update of Office 2016, version 16.0.6868.2067 or later. To get the latest updates, click File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.

Please let us know if you're still experiencing this issue after updating.

    Thanks,

    Michelle V.

    Office Team

    I also have this problem.

My install includes updates through 16.0.7369..2038 so I assume that has included version 16.0.6868.2067 (no clue how to check).

FYI, when I click on Update Options > View Updates (which says "See the update history for this product") it takes me to this webpage https://support.office.com/en-us/article/What-s-new-and-improved-in-Office-2016-for-Office-365-95c8d81d-08ba-42c1-914f-bca4603e1426?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US  wchih is useless.

As others have indicated this is a real PITA.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

I have version 16.0.6925.1048 64 bit and I have the problem of the office them changing on the office suites all the time.  This is the latest update so it appears that the problem of the office theme changing  to color has not been fixed.
