Office 2016 keeps reverting color theme back to Colorful

I installed Office 2016 as an upgrade to 2013.  Put the color scheme on grey (because annoyingly the awesome Black went away sometime in the preview.)  

Now I have a weird issue where every time I close all of the 2016 applications and then reopen one of the applications, the theme has changed from grey to colorful.  This applies to reboots or just closing them all and then later opening one back up.  Oddly as well today (10/5/2015) I walked away from the computer to talk to a co-worker in the next office.  When I came back, it was on colorful again.  However that is the only time it has changed itself while open.

It seems to work correctly when it is set to Grey.  So for instance, say I open Outlook and change the theme to Grey.  When I open Word or Excel, they are also Grey as they should be.

So I'm just throwing that out there as a potential bug

    Sorry, I don't have that experience.  ASK that question on the parallel business forum at the link I provided last time. They will have experience with WSUS and GPOs.

    It provides ongoing information about monthly updates to Office 365. Unfortunately they are slow updating it, so the June updates are not there yet.  Also unfortunate is that it does not provide KB links, it is generic user level carp.

    Our domain computers and servers updates are controlled by WSUS server (forced by GPO) so I guess this is the reason why I don't have this button.

    So, is there any other way do download and apply the fix? Any KB... ?

    OK, cool, I was wrong.

    I hate it when MS HIDES rather than simply disables temporarily inaccessible features.

    I wonder if the problem is associated with your account error indicated at the top of the dialog.  Try logging out from Office and see if that helps. 

    It is a pita that they associate the the version number display along with the Update Options button.  The hidden update button suggests to me that your environment is setup to handle Windows and Office updates through something like WUSUS (or what ever that corporate local Update process is called) rather than under the control of individual userids and computers.   So I would guess that the option to hide the update is controlled by GPEDIT. Sorry, I have no idea what specific setting to work with.  It may also be handled at a corporate level through the Office 365 Admin portal (I don't know if the portal works with Office 2016 Pro Plus).

    Also try logging in to a Windows session with an Admin class windows user ID (in other words, I assume/hope that you normally work in a user class Windows ID.
