Office 2016 keeps reverting color theme back to Colorful

I installed Office 2016 as an upgrade to 2013.  Put the color scheme on grey (because annoyingly the awesome Black went away sometime in the preview.)

Now I have a weird issue where every time I close all of the 2016 applications and then reopen one of the applications, the theme has changed from grey to colorful.  This applies to reboots or just closing them all and then later opening one back up.  Oddly as well today (10/5/2015) I walked away from the computer to talk to a co-worker in the next office.  When I came back, it was on colorful again.  However that is the only time it has changed itself while open.

It seems to work correctly when it is set to Grey.  So for instance, say I open Outlook and change the theme to Grey.  When I open Word or Excel, they are also Grey as they should be.

So I'm just throwing that out there as a potential bug

Same problem. Version 1704 (Build 8067.2115 Click-to-Run). Apps say all updates have been applied. Single user on single laptop, no network, no other users. Please fix!

I just upgraded to Office 2016 and the FIRST thing I did was try to find a means to change the Theme. I finally had to search Google for a while to find File/Office Account as the 'New' hidden location for Themes. Three Themes? No Customizing? No Downloadable Themes? No Styles?

And then I discovered once I changed the theme in Outlook so I could read my Email, All office Products have the same Theme.

This is sad to say the least.

This was Office 2016 installed locally NOT 365.

I am having this issue with a computer at home running Windows 10 and office 365. Every time I open Outlook it is colorful theme but I set it as dark grey. It just keeps switching back to colorful.

At my office, I do not experience this at all so very odd and very annoying. AT the office also Windows 10 and office 365?????

Open word, theme colorful. Change it to black....create my document....close word....open it again (without opening any other office app) and theme back to colorful. I open Outlook in the morning and leave it open all day. I change the theme to black. Open Word,,,theme is colorful....open Excel,,,,theme is colorful. So the setting that is supposed to affect ALL Office apps randomly decides when it wants to change and in what app it wants to change. Today, set Outlook to black. Open word it was coloful, changed to black. Same with Excel. Now when I open them they are staying black,,,,,oops,,,,spoke too soon. Just opened word and it's back to colorful. Went into Office365 on the web portal and checked that my theme color was set to black there. Now it seems to be staying on the Office apps on my workstation.
