In Win 10, Right-click on the Start button and choose Run
cd %userprofile%
press Enter on your keyboard 4. In the command prompt, type the following command:
cd OneDrive
press Enter on your keyboard 5. In the command prompt, type the following command:
icacls %userprofile%\OneDrive /inheritance:e
(where %userprofile%\OneDrive is the location of the folder you want to fix)
press Enter on your keyboard
If these methods do not work, OneDrive files can still be accessed from different locations, including phone, tablet and online. Any single file from the OneDrive folder can be copied and pasted onto the desktop
and opened from there.

No, it was Office Home and Student. This was fully compatible, but it still got wiped.
I was able to find the Product Key for my Office and rang the Microsoft Office help desk who restored Office and fixed my files which had become corrupted.
I was able to find the Product Key for my Office software and rang the Microsoft Office help desk. Once they had the Product Key they restored Office and fixed all my Excel and Word files which had become corrupted. This was an enormous relief!
The help desk person indicated that if I hadn't found the Product Key, they may have been able to help if I had the purchase receipt for my laptop with its pre-installed software.
Thanks for your well wishes. I really hope you find a solution very soon.
After upgrading to Windows 10, I can't open any files from Microsoft Office 2013: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access. The applications very briefly flash on then close. The fixes listed do not work (such as %userprofile%). This is a MAJOR ISSUE. Please advise how to fix it.
I had the same problem. After tearing my hair out trying to fix it using the online Community and Microsoft 10 FAQs, I rang the Microsoft Help Desk. They were able to fix it, but only because I had my Microsoft Office Product Key. (If I hadn't had that, a purchase receipt for Microsoft Office may have been able to solve the problem). I agree it is a MAJOR ISSUE. I now have an extremely negative view of Microsoft.
