We are aware of this problem and will release a fix in an upcoming update. Here are 2 workarounds that have been successful for other Community members. In Win 10, Right-click on the Start button and choose Run type %userprofile% into the Run box and click OK to open your local profile folder Double-click the OneDrive folder When you get prompted to allow access, click to allow access. OR In Win 10, Right-click on the Start button and choose Command Prompt (Admin) Click Yes to the User Account Control prompt In the command prompt, type the following command: cd %userprofile% press Enter on your keyboard 4. In the command prompt, type the following command: cd OneDrive press Enter on your keyboard 5. In the command prompt, type the following command: icacls %userprofile%\OneDrive /inheritance:e (where %userprofile%\OneDrive is the location of the folder you want to fix) press Enter on your keyboard If these methods do not work, OneDrive files can still be accessed from different locations, including phone, tablet and online. Any single file from the OneDrive folder can be copied and pasted onto the desktop and opened from there.

None of the above works. Microsoft does not have a solution to saving documents to your private files. They want you to save it online so their profilers can target you for marketing. If this is not true I want microsoft to prove what I say is wrong! In the mean time go to wikipedia and enter Libre Office Writer. It isn't perfect but my files are saved in documents and to my flash and E drive devices. Thats all I wanted microsoft to provide me with, "a quality experience." They did not deliver that and I have heard and read many dissatisfied customer feedbacks since their program crashed long hours of files. Libre Office Writer...can't beat it. It is partly a microsoft design before homeland security put them up to profiling us for them. Really? They need to profile me?...and I wouldn't be here being a...if they sold me a functional product to start...they did not and want us to hold our breath until they get off their...and fix it or disquise the spyware without our detection. I'm like all of you. Libre Office is one solution. Since microsoft got involved with government projects...we all know...AHHHHHHH!!!...they are doing it! WINDOWS 10 stinks and is just an extension of windows 8. The classic menu is available but when you have to recover back because microsoft products crash...you lose classic. If microsoft provided uncorrupted programming all of us would be too busy doing our projects instead of belly-aching about their horse....software. Up until yesterday, I was happily using Windows 7 with the Microsoft Office software which came pre-installed with the Samsung laptop I purchased in 2011. So I'm guessing I had MS 2010 (read on for why this is a guess). I didn't install Windows 8 because friends had very bad experiences and I read some bad reviews in online computer magazines. When Windows 10 was launched, the reviews were favorable and indicated that the Windows 10 had solved the Windows 8 problems. So I went ahead and installed Windows 10. That was the worst computer-related decision I have ever made. I use my laptop mainly for working on Excel and Word documents. Since installing Windows 10, the Excel, Word and other MS Office programs have disappeared from my computer. As result I am unable to open my existing Excel or Word files or create new ones. I have searched many online forums and FAQs, but so far none of them refer to the problem of the MS Office programs being deleted from the computer. I tried all the fixes which were related to my problem, but none of them worked. One workaround indicates how to find the MS Office programs if they are hidden. I tried that workaround, but its success depends on the programs being there in the first place. That is not the case for me. They are definitely gone. All the extras that come with Windows 10 of are miniscule benefit to me. I just want my MS Office programs back. It is beyond appalling that Microsoft has launched a product that does not work properly, causing untold hours of lost productivity and stress to so many users. I would be interested to know if anyone else had their MS Office programs deleted after they installed Windows 10 and if so whether they found a fix.

An in-place upgrade of win7 to win10 only removes incompatible programs and Office 2010 is fully compatible, unless it was actually Office Starter. If Office 2010 was supplied by the PC maker, they should also have supplied the means of reinstalling Office & its Key
