We are aware of this problem and will release a fix in an upcoming update. Here are 2 workarounds that have been successful for other Community members. In Win 10, Right-click on the Start button and choose Run type %userprofile% into the Run box and click OK to open your local profile folder Double-click the OneDrive folder When you get prompted to allow access, click to allow access. OR In Win 10, Right-click on the Start button and choose Command Prompt (Admin) Click Yes to the User Account Control prompt In the command prompt, type the following command: cd %userprofile% press Enter on your keyboard 4. In the command prompt, type the following command: cd OneDrive press Enter on your keyboard 5. In the command prompt, type the following command: icacls %userprofile%\OneDrive /inheritance:e (where %userprofile%\OneDrive is the location of the folder you want to fix) press Enter on your keyboard If these methods do not work, OneDrive files can still be accessed from different locations, including phone, tablet and online. Any single file from the OneDrive folder can be copied and pasted onto the desktop and opened from there.

None of the above works. Microsoft does not have a solution to saving documents to your private files. They want you to save it online so their profilers can target you for marketing. If this is not true I want microsoft to prove what I say is wrong! In the mean time go to wikipedia and enter Libre Office Writer. It isn't perfect but my files are saved in documents and to my flash and E drive devices. Thats all I wanted microsoft to provide me with, "a quality experience." They did not deliver that and I have heard and read many dissatisfied customer feedbacks since their program crashed long hours of files. Libre Office Writer...can't beat it. It is partly a microsoft design before homeland security put them up to profiling us for them. Really? They need to profile me?...and I wouldn't be here being a...if they sold me a functional product to start...they did not and want us to hold our breath until they get off their...and fix it or disquise the spyware without our detection. I'm like all of you. Libre Office is one solution. Since microsoft got involved with government projects...we all know...AHHHHHHH!!!...they are doing it! WINDOWS 10 stinks and is just an extension of windows 8. The classic menu is available but when you have to recover back because microsoft products crash...you lose classic. If microsoft provided uncorrupted programming all of us would be too busy doing our projects instead of belly-aching about their horse....software. Maybe they are all drunk while designing these programs? In the days past we didn't have all the problems current versions of windows has. It's not just Microsoft Word, its my external folders when the external drive is plugged in and working. It's excel spreadsheets, outlook and browsers. Just now it took 3 minutes to open a folder, but now its open.

Go to the wikipedia page and type in Libre office. When that page appears scroll down and download. It is a word type program...some icons are different. When you figure it out...One crash recovered all documents. I can save to my documents and external storage devices. Good day Brian

Thanks...since I got Libre office writer from wikipedia it works and recover files that crash too...now I remember I need to unsubcribe to office 365
